Thinking of Buying a Puppy?
Please, be very careful where you buy it from.
Your local Pet Store that sells puppies will gladly
sell you an adorable looking puppy. One that came from a place like this.....
Many puppies develop health problems, behavioral problems, or worse due to the poor conditions the parents are kept in and/or poor breeding programs in puppy mills. These issues do not often appear until the puppy gets a little older.
Yes, the parents of the cute little puppies in pet stores are kept in puppy mills like the ones in the video above. Do not believe the lie that pet store puppies are all from local breeders.
See a cute puppy for sale on the internet? Most of them come from places like in the video also. There are known puppy mills advertising their dogs on the internet as raised in a home environment. Dont believe the lie. They have their dogs in conditions like in the video above. A good indication you are looking at a puppy mill produced puppy is if they will ship the dog to you. Decent and reputable breeders will not ship a puppy. They will want you to come and pick the puppy up. Always be sure to see the parents of a puppy you are buying.
Still not convinced? Can you enjoy your new puppy purchased from a pet store knowing that it's parents spent their entire lives living in such awful conditions like in the video above? Knowing that your puppy's parents are still living in those conditions?
If you are looking for a puppy, yes, we sometimes do get them in our rescue. We have rescued several dogs from puppy mills that have turned out to be pregnant. Most recently Angelina was rescued and had a litter of four puppies. Angelina spent all but the last two weeks of her pregnancy in the puppy mill. Poor care, poor nutrition, and filthy conditions effected her pregnancy. Two of her puppies died, one appears normal, and one has severely crooked front legs cause by either the poor care or a poor breeding program at the puppy mill. If we don't currently have a puppy and you have your heart set on one, please search for one in another rescue, or at least from a reputable breeder where you can go and see the parents for yourself, and know the parents are well cared for. If you do that, you have a very very good chance at getting a healthy and happy puppy, which is what you are looking for.
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
