Please be aware that all applications are processed by volunteers, who are people with jobs, families, and pets of their own. We will process applications as quickly as possible. Thank you for your interest in adopting one of our rescued animals.
Please note: Adopters usually must be willing to travel to where the dog is located. Each dog's description has the location of the dog listed. Please be sure you can travel to meet and pick up the dog you choose.
We are an all volunteer organization and each volunteer has dogs, families and employment responsibilities in addition to their volunteer activities. You should receive an acknowledgement of us receiving your application within 24 hours of your sending it. If you do not, please write to us to confirm that we did receive your application.
We call the references you provide so please make them aware that we will be contacting them. Reference checks can take anywhere from one day to two weeks to complete, depending on the volume of applications and inquiries we have received, as well as how easily we are able to reach the people you list for your references. A home visit is required prior to adoption.
If you are not selected to adopt an animal from us it is no reflection on you or your home. Our volunteers have years of experience and devotion to rescuing animals from puppy mills, back yard breeders, shelters, and abuse situations and must select the home best suited for each individual animal's specific needs. Even if the specific animal that you applied for is not a good match, chances are good that another animal we have available for adoption will be, so please keep an open mind. We pride ourselves on having an excellent record of success in matching applicants with the right companion. In the long run, we want your adopted pet to be a wonderful addition to your family and we do our very best to make the best match possible so that you and your new companion will both be happy.
Please be aware of the following:
-Applicants must be 21 years of age.
-The applicant must be the person or persons who will be responsible for the care of the animal. Pets do not make good gifts.
-In most cases we prefer adoptive homes to have another like sized canine companion for the adopted dog to play with and learn from. We do have some animals that would also do well as an only pet.
-No homes with children under 5 years of age will be considered. These dogs are just to tiny and they are easily injured.
-The location of each dog is listed on the description. You must be willing to pick up the animal you adopt. In some very rare cases we are able to arrange a transport with our rescue volunteers depending on your location, but this depends on a lot of factors - there is no guarantee we can do a transport. It's best if you can go to where the dog is located.
-Adoption ranges from $100-$350 depending on the age, health, and veterinary expenses of the animals.
All animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
Please note: WE NO LONGER ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS(some previous checks have bounced and it's a real hassle that we don't have time for in animal rescue) We accept cash, money orders, certified checks and PayPal ONLY.
