For those we have lost, but will always remember in our hearts.
Your life was a blessing, your memory a gift of joy,
you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

 The Rainbow Bridge

There's a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of it's many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge is a land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet passes, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. Old and frail animals are made whole. They play all day with each other. There is only one thing missing. They are not with that special person who loved them so much on earth. But the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together for eternity... -Anonymous

Justin
August 31, 2011 I give you this one thought to keep - I am with you still - I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awake in the morning's hush I am the swift, uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not think of me as gone - I am with you still - in each new dawn. ~author unknown

Wally
Wally came from a high kill shelter in Ohio. He was about 12 at the time and had been left tied to the door. We volunteered to foster him, but knew we could not let him go. He ended up being the sweetest, funniest little guy that we ever knew. Everybody that ever saw Wally always wanted to steal him from us. He loved to be held, cuddled and especially liked to chase his bone. He loved to play keep away and “touch me if you can” as he raced between my legs. His “pommy smile” was so endearing. Wally’s precious heart gave up on him and he crossed the bridge on April 25, 2011.

Glory
"I'm not gone...not really. I haven't gone away...I've only gotten bigger. My eyes, so bright, now shine among the stars. My voice sings with the wind in winter, as I leap And dance among the tree tops. I stalk the blown leaves in autumn, and brush the Flowers gently in the spring. I come to you in dreaming, on feet grown dreamtime soft, And lay my cheek against yours, and whisper: "Peace be with you." Someday we will play again together, you and I, among the stars. 'Til then, fear not to love, for your love gave my life meaning. And I return that love to you...a hundredfold...a thousandfold... Forever." Copyright © 1996 by Audrey E. Nickel
