Just rescued from a puppymill. Star is a beautiful cream female pomeranian. She is three years old. This girl spent the majority of her 3 years in a puppymill in Oklahoma. Her last litter of 5 puppies was welped in June. Her body has still not recovered. Her hair is course and brittle and she is skin and bones under all that fur. In spite of all that, she is a very sweet and friendly girl!!!! The sad news is that she has heartworms and needs treatment immediately. Treatment will cost about $500. Please donate today to help Star get treated for heartworms!

UPDATE 10/13/2009 Star starts her treatment for heartworms today. Please pray for this precious girl.

UPDATE 10/22/2009 Star did very well for her heartworm treatment. She is back with her foster mom and she seems to be doing just great. She has to be kept pretty quiet over the next month due to the heartworm treatment. Star is such a loving little girl. She follows her foster mom and sits by her when she is in the office. This girl is a little angel. She's already trained to go potty on pee pads and we're sure once she is thru the heartworm issue and can be more active that she will quickly learn to potty outside. What a precious sweet girl Star is. More updates will be shared here as we have new info. 

UPDATE 11/18, 2009 Star is doing great. She went back to the vet for another blood test. Star begins monthly treatment with Heartgard plus. She goes back in another month for another blood test. Star has really blossomed this past month. She is feeling better, and looking better also! Her hair has become soft and she is a very happy and loving girl. She follows her foster mom around and now will put her paws up on her foster mom's leg if she wants to be picked up. This precious little pom is wonderful and she is a joy to her foster mom! There is no love like the undying love of a canine companion. Star is wonderful. We are so blessed to have her!

UPDATE: We are still waiting for Star's bloodwork to show that the heartworms are gone.

UPDATE April 2010- Star tested Negative for Heartworms! Hurray!!!!!!!!!!!
